Home of the Prairie Climate Atlas

For the past several years, we have been developing a climate atlas for the  Canadian Prairie Provinces with the aim of understanding  how the climate of the Canadian Prairies has changed and will likely change in the coming decades. This information is essential  for a wide variety of stakeholders as well as members of the public. Here we present some of the results of a project that will provide Prairie Dwellers with high-quality data and visualizations depicting how the climate of the prairie provinces has changed and is likely to change in the coming decades.  The project’s home is the University of Winnipeg’s Richardson College for the Environment.  Funding for the project has been provided by the Province of Manitoba’s Climate Change Branch (Conservation and Water Stewardship), with support from The University of Winnipeg (Research Office), and UWinnipeg’s Department of Geography and its Centre for Forest Interdisciplinary Research (C-FIR).
